DLI Cleaners Care
Because DLI Cleaners Care...
35 Million More Hangers Recycled in 2015!
2015 will see more than 35 million fewer hangers making their way to landfills thanks to cleaners participating in the Drycleaning & Laundry Institute's "DLI Cleaners Care Hanger Recycling Program." The new program spans the globe and asks DLI members to recycle hangers to reduce waste and save money.
We know that many drycleaners already recycle hangers to reduce their operational costs. It just makes good business sense to do so. Now we're asking cleaners to track the number of hangers they recycle and report it as part of the program. By tracking these recycling efforts we can report how DLI member drycleaners contribute to a greener planet.

Raising the Bar
The DLI Cleaners Care Hanger Recycling Program launched in 2012, when drycleaners helped reduce steel hanger waste by 25 million hangers or 750 tons of steel. In 2013 the number grew to 30 million hangers or 900 tons of steel. In 2014 members reduced, reused, and recycled 35 million hangers and in 2015, will keep 35 million more out of landfills. That's 125 million hangers total over the life of the program!
