Saving Money with Insulation

Q: My plant stays hot throughout the entire year. I have ventilation fans, swamp coolers, and all of my pipes are covered with insulation, but the heat is still high. Financially, I’m not able to put in an air conditioning system. Is there anything else I can try?

A: Insulating pipes will reduce heat in the plant but you may want to try insulating your presses as well. Several product lines of insulating covers for both drycleaning and laundry presses are available from many suppliers. In most cases the insulating covers will go over both the head of the press and also the bottom of the press. Covering these exposed surfaces will greatly reduce the amount of heat radiating from your presses, making your plant more comfortable. Insulating your equipment will also reduce energy costs as well as create a safer working environment.
