Service Issues

Q: Occasionally our equipment breaks down and we can’t get a repair person to come for several days. This causes customer dissatisfaction. What can we do to improve this situation?

A: First of all, it may be wise to find a new repair person. In the meantime, there are several things you should be doing to help yourself.

 

Get the maintenance manual from your file and really study the maintenance information. You may find the answer to your problem under the “Troubleshooting” section.

 

The next time the service person comes, stick right with them to see what they does to repair a machine. Doing it yourself is a lot cheaper than calling them the next time you have a problem. Spending some time on the troubleshooting suggestions for all your machinery will be time well spent in keeping the plant running and your customers happy.
