Sharing advice on moth damage

Q: How can I best advise a customer on how to prevent moth damage?

A: Typically, moth damage is not visible before cleaning. After cleaning the area, it may appear rough or even have holes. To prevent this damage, the garments should be cleaned before storage. This will remove the stains that may attract moths as well as kill any remaining larvae. In addition, cedar chips and moth balls can be placed in the storage area to help repel the moths. For more positive measures, secure the services of a professional exterminator.
