Taking Care of Spotting Boards

Spotting.pngWhen was the last time you took a good look at your spotting boards? Do they need to be cleaned or repaired?

The spotting board must be kept in good operational condition at all times. It should be clean and free of dirt, dust, lint, and other soils. The vacuum or suction should be strong enough to “pull” the moisture and/or chemicals down and away from the fabric. All of the pedals (steam, vacuum, air) should work with ease and not stick when used. The steam/air gun should not leak. The hose should be tightly fitted. The valve that adjusts the steam and air should be operating correctly.

Check the board periodically to be sure that it is in good condition so that it can be used efficiently.
