Two Federal Posters Revised
The Department of Labor has recently revised two federal posters due to the EEOC's new changes in penalty violations of workplace posting requirements. The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) Minimum Wage Poster and the Employee Polygraph Protection Act Notice reflect these changes with some other modifications.
Some of the items changed with the newest edition of the FLSA poster include nursing mothers, mis-classifying independent contractors, provisions for Puerto Rico and adjusting the language regarding civil penalties to reflect increases. The federal minimum wage currently remains at the hourly wage of $7.25.
The Employee Polygraph Protection Act notice outlines the same regulations as previous versions only modifying the portion pertaining to civil penalties.
